Hola! I’m super excited to announce that Gringo finally opened its 18th branch at SM Dasmarinas. Just last October 7, 2019, I attended the grand opening with other bloggers and influencers from the South.
McWilson Corporation, the people behind Tokyo Bubble Tea, Honeybon Pastry Shop, and Tuscano Italian Kitchen, owns Gringo. They have been doing restaurants for 10 years now.
What to expect?
Chicken. Ribs. Friends. Gringo cooks up a Mexican-Latin Feast. They take pride of the Flame-Grilled Chicken and its hot sauce. It comes in two flavors: Orginal and Southern Spice. It’s available in quarter (148), half (285), and whole (535). You may also add on some sides.
The Grilled Ribs drenched in Barbecue Sauce is also a must try! I’d say it’s 10/5 for me! It’s available in half rack (325), full rack (620), and ribs muchos (980). Sides like mashed potato, macaroni salad, buttered corn, and mashed vegetables are available too.
Starters
For starters, you can choose between Chili Con Carne Fries (165), Nacho Grande (265), Garlic Calamari (235), and Baked Mussels (220). I’ve only tried the Nacho Grande and it didn’t disappoint me. On my next visit, I’m going to try the baked mussels!
Soups & Salads
While waiting for your amigos, you may try some Mango Chicken Salad (235), Clam Chowder (185), and Chicken Soup (160). Although the Chicken Soup is the best seller, I’m really interested to try the Mango Chicken Salad.
Burritos, Quesadillas, Tacos, Taquitos
To satisfy your cravings, Gringo offers different types of Burritos: Pork Adobada (235), Roast Chicken (235), and Slow Cooked Beef (245). In addition Quesadillas comes in two flavors: Chicken Onion Melt (155) and Truffle Queso (145).
Gringo also have Baked Taquitos (Buffalo Chicken, 265 and Spinach Mushroom Melt, 250). Lastly, they have Street Tacos in five flavors: Porky Pork Belly (105), Cream Dory Aioli (95), Spicy Tuna (125), Adobo Blackmole (95), and Latin Salpicao (105). You should also try the best seller Chili Con Carne Crispy Taco (88).
Drinks
Gringo serves non-alcoholic beverages like iced tea, soda, and juice. They also have a bar where you can order cocktails, beers, and hard liquors.
What to try?
I highly recommend their Hola-day boards: Sancho and Buena. It’s great for family and a group of friends!
Sancho Board (Php 2,680)
Buena Board (Php 2,640)
Besides the chicken and the ribs, here are some of my top picks:
Ube De Queso
This dessert will give you the sweetness that you need in life. Hahaha! This is good for sharing too.
Tilapia Fingers
Instead of the usual fish fillet, Gringo has Tilapia fingers! It’s best to eat it while hot. I like that it’s not oily and it is served with greens.
Lechon Cubano
Lechon Cubano is a slow-roast, Cuban-style lechon belly. It’s marinated with a mixture of aromatics. The meat is tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
Gracias Gringo SM Dasmarinas!
