Over the past two months, I have witnessed God’s financial provision in ways I never expected. I had been praying for help while carrying financial responsibilities that felt heavier than usual. I did not know where the money would come from, but twice, funds connected to my past arrived at exactly the moment I needed them.
Some people might call these events coincidences. For me, they were reminders of God’s faithfulness, perfect timing, and care. He knew what I needed before I could see how those needs would be met.
Praying for Provision During a Difficult Season
Last year, I had a considerable amount of savings. However, after making some bad investments, my financial situation changed. I found myself living paycheck to paycheck while continuing to fulfill my responsibilities and pursue my goals.
Life can be unpredictable. Sometimes, no matter how carefully we plan, things do not unfold the way we expect. Expenses arrive, schedules change, and decisions that once seemed certain suddenly become difficult.
During this season, I began praying specifically for a financial blessing. I was not asking for luxury. I was asking God to help me meet real obligations that were already in front of me.
He answered through two unexpected payments, each one tied to something that had begun years before.
The First Provision: 11,270 pesos for My Dissertation Enrollment
I recently passed my Comprehensive Examination, an important milestone in my PhD journey. My next step was to enroll in my dissertation.
The enrollment fee was 10,700 pesos. Because I did not have enough cash available at the time, I used my credit card to pay for it. I was grateful that I could move forward academically, but I was already dreading my next statement. I knew the charge would be waiting for me, along with my other financial responsibilities.
Then one day, I checked my bank account and found an unexpected deposit of 11,270 pesos.
The money came from BDO Life. I had obtained the policy in 2018 and completed all the payments last year, but I had completely forgotten about it. At the exact time I was praying for provision, money connected to a decision I had made eight years earlier came back to me.
The deposit was even 570 pesos more than the cost of my enrollment.
That moment made me realize something: my younger self had invested in the person I am today. I never imagined that something I started in 2018 would become part of God’s provision for me in 2026.
It was more than 11,270 pesos. It was a reminder that God sees what I need, even before I know how He will provide it.

The Second Provision: 25,500 pesos When I Was Behind on Condo Payments
Not long afterward, I experienced God’s financial provision again.
I was 23,738 pesos behind on the payments for our condo unit at SMDC Twin Residences. I had not paid for two months because I was seriously considering terminating our contract.
When we purchased the unit, we were originally told that turnover would be in 2027. It was later moved to 2028. After paying consistently for two years, the delay made me question whether continuing with the investment was still the right decision for us.
While I was carrying that concern, a friend unexpectedly sent me 25,500 pesos.
He had owed me the money since 2022. Four years had passed, and I did not know when it would be returned. Yet it finally arrived at the precise moment I was behind by 23,738 pesos.
Once again, the amount was more than what I needed. It exceeded my outstanding condo payments by 1,762 pesos.
A four-year-old debt became an answer to a prayer I had only recently been praying. God used something from my past to provide for a need in my present.
This experience reminded me that a delay is not always a denial. Something may appear late according to our schedule but arrive at exactly the right time according to God’s.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.”

More Than Enough, Twice
What touched me most was the pattern behind these two answered prayers.
For my dissertation enrollment, I needed 10,700 pesos and received 11,270 pesos. For my overdue condo payments, I needed 23,738 pesos and received 25,500 pesos.
Altogether, my two immediate needs amounted to 34,438 pesos. God provided 36,770 pesos, which was 2,332 pesos more than the total I needed.
Both provisions were connected to choices and circumstances from years ago. One came from a policy I started in 2018. The other came from money that had been owed to me since 2022. I could not have planned for either payment to arrive when it did.
But God already knew.
God’s Financial Provision Does Not Always Look the Way We Expect
I used to think that an answered prayer for finances might come through a new opportunity, a bigger income, or an entirely new source. Sometimes it does. In these two situations, however, God provided by bringing old resources back into my life at the moment I needed them.
These experiences also taught me that trusting God does not mean ignoring financial responsibility. I still need to budget wisely, learn from my bad investments, evaluate major commitments carefully, and make responsible decisions. Faith does not remove the need for wisdom.
At the same time, wisdom does not require me to carry every burden as though everything depends on me alone. I can plan responsibly while trusting that God is present, attentive, and able to provide in ways I cannot predict.
A Testimony of God’s Faithfulness
I am sharing these stories not because every financial prayer will be answered in the same way or according to the same timeline. I am sharing them because I want to remember what God did for me during this season.
When my savings had decreased and my obligations felt overwhelming, He reminded me that I was not forgotten. When I could not see where the money would come from, He had already prepared the answer through events set in motion years earlier.
God’s financial provision arrived twice, and both times it was more than the amount I needed.
If you are currently praying for provision, continue to bring your needs to God while doing what you can with wisdom and integrity. The answer may not come from the source you expect. It may be connected to a seed planted years ago, a forgotten investment, an old debt, or an opportunity you cannot yet see.
I do not know exactly how God will provide in every future season. But after witnessing His faithfulness last month and again this month, I know this: God sees our needs, God hears our prayers, and God’s timing is always worthy of our trust.
