EOSEC Advocacy in the time of COVID-19
Eliminate Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (EOSEC) is one of my advocacy. In the past, you probably read how I spend my Sundays teaching kids about it. Since we are under a quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I tried to find a way on how to continue talking about it. It’s been months since I last taught kids about my advocacy but it doesn’t mean that I won’t stop.
Just last week, I was hired by Philippine Children’s Ministries Network to create some materials on how to teach future trainers. I’m going to produce nine modules on how to teach the modules properly. My goal this week is to finish the production of my PowerPoint presentations that I’ll use to teach.
Here’s the List of Modules that I’ll create:
- I Am Important
- I Have Rights
- OSEC Definition, Situation, and Incidence
- How Does it Happen?
- What are its Forms?
- Who are vulnerable to OSEC?
- What can I do to prevent OSEC?
- People I Trust
- How do I report OSEC?
Thoughts about this Project
To be honest, I actually feel good while doing the PowerPoint presentations. Although it’s extra workload for me, I love the idea that I can help people to be aware that EOSEC Advocacy exists. I hope more children will be aware on how to avoid it from happening. I pray for the children who are currently suffering from Online Sexual Exploitation.
Here’s a supplementary material for the first module. It’s entitled “I am important.” In this module, the goal of the facilitators is to help the participants to appreciate themselves as an individual with dignity and worth. This is a teaching demo on how I teach kids in our community.

EOSEC Advocacy in the time of COVID-19 is quite hard to do because of the rule in mass gathering and social distancing. This won’t stop me helping the kids.
