Biyaheng South: 5 Places to Visit in Cavite 2023

Biyaheng South launched its first summer tour in celebration of heritage month. They partner with the Department of Tourism CALABARZON Office, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG IV-A), and Cavite Tourism.

Follow my Ka-Biyaheros: DarShey GoesTo, TheJosephVerallo, All About Cavite (IFeature.ph and Aliventures), and Hello Eats Nani.

1. Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine

The Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine is a historical landmark in Kawit, Cavite. It is the ancestral home of General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Philippines.

This shrine is built during the Spanish Colonial Period in 1845. In fact, Emilio Aguinaldo was born in this house on March 22, 1869. People can explore the various rooms preserved to reflect the lifestyle of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This shrine gives a glimpse into the life of Emilio Aguinaldo and the events that shaped the nation. It contains Aguinaldo’s belongings like military uniforms, weapons, letters, photographs, and other historical items. The paintings and dioramas will help you connect with the past and gain a deeper understanding of the Philippines’ journey toward independence.

How To Go There:

From Metro Manila, take the CAVITEX and exit at Kawit, Cavite. Turn left on Tirona Highway and after 700 meters, you should see the Aguinaldo Shrine.

2. Malen’s Restaurant

Malen’s Restaurant serves Filipino dishes at a price that won’t break the bank. This is a great stopover for your heritage tour because you’ll be entertained by the vintage photos on their wall.

You must try their Roast Beef (345 pesos), Gambas (255 pesos), Asian Style Pampano (460 pesos), Pork Ribs (320 pesos), and Shrimp Sinigang (305 pesos). To quench your thirst, I highly recommend their Apple Grape Shake (130 pesos). They also have a bakeshop where people can buy pasalubong.

Besides the good food, they also have a function room for private events. For reservations, you may contact them at 0977 661 4290 or 046 438 5027.

3. Torres Farm And Resort

Torres Farm and Resort is one of the popular tourist destinations in Naic, Cavite. As of writing, they have 33 attractions that depict the different landmarks around the world. I’ll make a separate blog post about this soon.

People can go there for a day tour but I suggest that you take the overnight package. Besides taking pictures, people can also use the swimming pools. I really enjoyed the foam on the pool which is only available on weekends.

Besides the pizza and pasta, they also offer ala carte dishes for breakfast. In addition, they offer catering services: buffet style, grazing table, gelato cart, and steak carving.

Travel with Karla

Joining the Biyaheng South Summer Tour made me realize that there are more places to visit in the other parts of Cavite. Most people think that the only fun places to explore in Cavite are Bacoor, Silang, and Tagaytay. Apparently, we can also enjoy the interesting places in Kawit, Noveleta, and Naic! This actually inspires me to explore and feature the less traveled places in Cavite. All of the places I mentioned above are now very accessible because we have CAVITEX, CALAX, and CAVITEX C5 LINK.

I’d like to thank Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation South for making my birthday trip memorable. It is indeed, #WorthTheRoadTrip.
