Estoria Manila: A Love Story

Something Old, Something New at Estoria Manila

Twenty years back, I met my friend (now husband) at an office near Manila. Young and restless, we would roam the party places of Malate, Ermita, and Mabini.  This year, we were blessed to have been gifted a dinner date for two at the new Estoria Manila Restaurant and Events Place.

And as fate would have it – Estoria is right smack in the middle of our love story setting. I was elated to realize for this year’s Valentine’s date, we are coming back to where it all began!

As soon as we arrived, the place delivered us the nostalgia, the romance, and the past. I knew right then and there; it will be a night to remember.

Finding Estoria Manila

I was drawn to the massive arched entrance door. Straightaway, I was transported back in time to Old Manila with its classic Filipino-Spanish theme and Intramuros vibe. I felt so at home already.

As we stepped in, the friendly staff greeted us, as well as the impressively styled walls reminiscent of the Ermita Shrine’s facade. I immediately fell in love.

I was awed by its tall ceilings adorned with a massive chandelier, the French glass walls, and the intricate balusters. Certainly, creating a romantic mood and what will transpire throughout the night.

A lot of thought went into designing the restaurant. As a result, the sustainably built interior design gave it authenticity and classic touch.

Their tagline: “Celebrating Filipino” definitely screams here. It is evident in every aspect of the restaurant, from the food to the ambiance.

Why Estoria is Our New Delightful Discovery in Manila

I have always shunned going out for Valentine’s Day, so we decided to head there a day before. I wasn’t expecting much because it wasn’t V-Day yet.

But Estoria exceeded our expectations. They treated our night as special as the 14th itself.

The 5-course dinner we enjoyed was not only exquisite from the wine down to dessert but was also remarkably served!

They handed us, ladies, with a complimentary red rose. They also gave out talking cues to help pairs maintain meaningful conversations.

The dinner experience was delightful, indeed!

According to their Operations Manager, Mr. Christian Abrera, the place is run by Airo Hospitality a Filipino family-owned hospitality brand behind the:

  • Airo Hotel, Anex Hotel, and Airobedz in Manila
  • Anahaw Garden Resort in Rizal
  • Airo Suites x Estoria Cafe and Airobedz in Makati
  • Airobedz McKinley and Airobedz in BGC

That explains the quality, the genius, and the love for heritage behind every detail of the place!  This definitely will be where we’ll frequent every time we go back to Manila.

They Serve Food that is Close to our Hearts

The restaurant serves tapas and well-loved Filipino culinary treasures like Kare-Kare, Bulalo, Sisig, and Pancit. While the bar offers selections of non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, sangria, and wine.

The restaurant regularly serves breakfast to Airo and Anex hotel’s guests and walk-ins. They also offer lunch and dinner with their Ala Carte.

All in all, Estoria Manila is an excellent mix of history, culture, and gastronomic delights that will leave you wanting more.

A Place for Every Gathering

Since Estoria Manila opened its doors in May 2022, it remained true to its vision to bring back the glory of Ermita through its events and delectable food.

To accommodate intimate weddings or other intimate events, they have the Jose Rizal Hall good for 30-50 pax. To add to the space, the Luna Hall can hold another 30- 50 pax. Both can comfortably hold a gathering of 100 to a max of 110 guests.

Estoria also offers Melchora Room. It is reclusive enough for business meetings or small intimate gatherings for 8-10 guests.

Estoria Manila offers The Jose Rizal Hall, Melchora Hall, and the Luna Hall too.

Opposite the restaurant and a few steps away, is The Nuestra Senora de Guia Shrine, home to the oldest Marian image in the Philippines. This makes Estoria the best option to celebrate traditional gatherings like weddings, baptisms, and family reunions. As well as for business meetings and corporate events.
