Art Tag is not a collection of galleries but of artists, artworks, collectors, merchants, and their merchandise. Its mission is to connect artists and collectors to support the country’s local art scene. Its initiatives strive to create unique artist-led experiences and strengthen local art-driven initiatives.
Philip Abadicio has been a PR expert and art enthusiast for many years. His latest project and advocacy is Art Tag. His idea seeks to directly support artists while offering a preview of collectors’ artworks before they go on sale.
Art Tag’s unique feature is direct sales. Artists and collectors sell their works directly to the public. In traditional art markets, galleries usually represent artists and handle sales.
Art Tag plans to hold two markets each year: one before Christmas “Tag-lamig” and one in summer “Tag-init”. The first Art Tag will feature affordable contemporary art, a gift market, food kiosks, a Christmas caroling contest, and fire pits.
Participating artists include Popo San Pascual, Kutz de Jesus, Raiñer Duhaylungsod, Xander Calceta, Reb Belleza, David Kaufman, Ruth Cancio, Isaac Sion, Dante Palmes, Dominic Escobar, Dante Enage, and many others.
The first Art Tag Christmas 2024 will take place from November 30 to December 1, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the garden outside Tag 4120 Restaurant & Art Gallery, Lagusan Drive, Brgy Tolentino West, Tagaytay. For more details, visit their Facebook and Instagram or call 09209264120.
Enjoy Tagaytay’s cool weather as you explore the Art Market. Grab warm snacks from the food stalls. Listen to Christmas carolers singing nearby. All this and more at Art Tag Christmas 2024!
