Today, 23rd September 2022, the Gawad Karangalan ng Lungsod ng Dasmarinas will be held with Vice President Sara Zimmerman Duterte as the Guest of Honor. Awards will be given to elementary, secondary, tertiary, and post-graduate honor students, as well as the bar and board passers. This awarding body fervently advocates the significance of achieving academic excellence among the youth by recognizing their laudable scholastic performance.
As much as I would like the princess of Mima’s Homey to be included in the list of awardees, she did not qualify because she is not a registered voter.

Alexandria’s Journey
Alexandria Dela Cruz Pacrin, born and raised in the City of Dasmarinas, is a consistent honor student during grade school (Philippine Christian University Dasmarinas Campus). She also excelled in her secondary studies (University of the Philippines Rural High School). She passed the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) but opted to accept a scholarship offer. In fact, she pursued the pre-med course Behavioral Neuroscience at Quinnipiac University, Connecticut, United States of America.
At the age of 18, about to be a registered voter, she left and embarked on her journey to study in a foreign land. Studying and living on her own, she was able to maintain her remarkable academic performance, a Dean’s Lister every semester. On the 14th of May 2022, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience. As parents, words are not enough to describe how grateful and honored we are with all her impressive accomplishments. It was very heartwarming to read her messages.
It was quite a challenge working 3 jobs, being Psi Chi president, and doing research all while studying full time, but here we are graduating and starting a doctorate right after! I come from a family where not everyone is privileged enough to get an education, hence this achievement is not only for me but also for everyone back home. I miss you Renell A. Dela Cruz – Pacrin and Reynaldo Pacrin!!! Wish you were here celebrating this milestone with me!
Alexandria D. Pacrin BS Behavioral Neuroscience, Chemistry Pre-medical Studies, Magna Cum Laude
At present, she is a scholar in the Physiology and Neurobiology Ph.D. program at the University of Connecticut. A graduate school student and at the same time a teacher handling anatomy and physiology subjects.
Though our town and country were not able to extend recognition for a distinct youth like her, we won’t skip the chance. Kudos to Mima’s Homey Princess Alexandria Dela Cruz Pacrin!
