Apple iMac Review: Yay or Nay? by Renell D. Pacrin
If you have a student at home, you also need to equip a room that will promote good study habits. At Mima’s Homey, the dining table serves as the study desk. The computer table was stationed at the master’s bedroom. The millennium year paved the way for primary students to have computer subjects at an early age. Unlike during my time, I was able to learn about and use a computer when I was already in college, while my daughter, at age five! At second grade, she is already using an iMac desktop, until she graduated from senior high school.
During her primary years, I have given her keyboarding (typing) lessons, not rigid but I have made sure that she will learn it the proper way. There are keyboarding lessons which are not in modules but games instead. Games keyboarding lessons are exciting and challenging, hence, she enjoyed it. I have encouraged her to do her best and continue to level up in her typing lessons’ game. I told her that it will be for her good advantage when she reach high school, college, and even in her future profession, where there will be lots of paper works, research, and other school requirements which her acquired keyboarding skills will definitely help her.
To my surprise, my daughter learned (by herself) much more than proper keyboarding. Using her iMac desktop, she became a desktop publisher and video composer-editor. She even asked for a Wacom Intuos Digital Graphic Drawing Tablet to help and further enhance her artistic talent and desktop publishing skills. When she was in high school, I told her to focus more on her academics. I asked her to spend less time in video editing and desktop publishing; me forgetting that she excels in both. I had to remind myself that she is innately intelligent, gifted in music and art. She is a fast-learner even without supervision.
Apple iMac Review: Yay or Nay?
These days, some electric and electronic equipment have only few years lifespan that you can consider them as disposable. Our twelve-year old iMac have superb and powerful capacity to support data, graphics, music, movies, and photo files, publications, and videos. It still has an excellent working performance. The iMac desktop unit is a three-piece ware (monitor, keyboard, and mouse). It is a space-saver, easy to move around, clean, and use.
At first, I find iMac difficult to use because I am more familiar with the usual, inexpensive desktop computer and laptop that we are using in the office. When my daughter left for college studies, I began to use our iMac. I have used it for our family business – updating books, quarterly and annual mandatory reports preparation and submission, scheduling of reservations, and other things which requires computing. Until one day, after I have already became comfortable using our iMac, easy and speedy to use indeed, the LCD monitor had discoloration. I was not able to open any applications at all.
Though I can not use our iMac anymore (needs check-up/repair), I strongly recommend this brand of desktop computer. You will not regret its quality and workmanship. It will give you the learning opportunities and ease it can provide to your children and yourself which is priceless.Renell Pacrin, Mima’s Homey
