Marugame Udon is one of the Japanese Restaurants in SM Bacoor. It’s known for their Udon noodles and Tempura. Are they really good?
I was starving when I went there so I opt to choose their rice meals. Here’s what I ordered:
Katsu Curry Rice 4/5
I’m impressed with the large serving size but it is definitely not close to what I tried in Japan. Some part of the meat is tender, others are hard to chew. Also, the curry is not that flavorful and it’s quite oily. Needless to say, I won’t order it again.
Their Katsudon is appetizing. It tastes really good! I like that the meat is tender.
Noritama Omusubi 3/5
Noritama Omusubi is a side dish for people who want extra rice. I was expecting something inside but it’s just rice with toppings. I wish I ordered Gyoza or Tempura as side dish.
Here’s their menu for take out and delivery:
The staff seems neat. I like that they are following the health protocols prescribed by IATF. They are courteous. It was almost closing time when I went there but they still accommodated me. They focused on cleaning the other parts of the restaurant and did not ask me to leave.
The overall ambiance is nice. The lights are dim compared to other restaurants. I feel that there are spotlights all over the place. Well to be fair, it will make you feel that you’re in one of the night stalls in Japan. It’s not really great in pictures. Here’s how it looks like without any filter:

They are known for their Udon and Tempura. I should’ve tried them instead. I guess that’s a reason to go back there soon! Overall, it’s an okay restaurant if you’re craving for Japanese food and you’re on a budget.
