Facebook Groups for Minimalist Filipinos

Minimalism is all about living with less. It’s basically getting rid of excess stuff and living life based on experiences rather than worldly possessions. It has been my lifestyle for many years now. It’s great that more and more Filipino are adapting this lifestyle. In this blog post, I’m going to list some of my favorite Facebook Groups for Minimalist Filipinos.

1. Minimalist Philippines

Group Description: A web sphere wherein people who are into Minimalism in the Philippines can share ideas, exchange opinions, and a support group as well in attaining a fulfilling, and deep life. Less IS more.

Facebook Groups for Minimalist Filipinos

Minimalist Philippines was created in October 2016. Now, this group has more than 39,000 Filipinos who shares their journey in the minimalist lifestyle. They also have a Facebook Page called Minimalist Philippines with more that 100,000 followers. They aim to push the simple lifestyle to Filipinos as a sustainable one.

The group does not allow buying and selling. One of the rules in the group is to Practice Contentment. They remove members who keeps on asking where people buy their stuff or how much the things posted are. I love how they fight consumerism. In addition, they discourage self-promotion and adding of external links.

2. Pinoy Minimalist

They are so minimalist, they don’t have a group description. Hehe!

Pinoy Minimalist was created in December 2016. Now this group has more that 15,000 Filipinos who share before and after pictures of their spaces. It’s really inspiring to see the changes after decluttering and re-purposing things.

The group allows sharing of resources but they are very strict in terms of piracy. People must only share legitimate links to videos, e-books & audio books to avoid copyright infringement. No sharing of files unless they are your own or there is permission to share it from the copyright owner.

3. Buhay Zero – Waste

Group Description: A Filipino community trying to reduce the amount of waste they produce in their day-to-day living.

Buhay Zero-Waste was created in May 2017. Today, it has more that 56,000 Filipinos who shares how to minimize waste in their life. I included this because having less waste is also part of having a minimalist lifestyle. What I love about this group is that they have BUHAY ZERO WASTE PRELOVED which is an online dumpster drive for pre-loved items. They also have BUHAY ZERO WASTE TINDAHAN for all the buying and selling transactions.

The group intends to support the locals of the Philippines as they strive to improve waste reduction in our country. The admins doesn’t allow giveaways & solicitation for campaigns. The good things is that people can invite them as guest speakers.

  1. I’m a member of all these groups! First ko yung Buhay Zero-Waste. I’m also in their preloved group which has been a lifesaver both as a place to donate and to look for stuff that I can reuse 🙂

  2. I tried doing minimalist but not to the extend that my home looks boring 🙂 I love clutter but making sure they are classy and stylish for our home. Zero-waste is part of my lifestyle hence I do upcycling!
