I’ve read about a lot of Filipinos trying to visit the 81 provinces of the Philippines. I want to do that too but I think it’s not something that I can attain in just a year. This year, I plan to visit the landmarks that can be found in Philippine Peso Bills.
20 pesos (Dalawampung Piso)
Manuel L. Quezon is the face of 20 peso bill. He’s the second president of the Philippines.
Places to visit:
- Malacanan Palace, Manila
- Banaue Rice Terraces, Ifugao
- National Museum (Former Executive House, where the Senate declared Filipino as the First Language)
50 pesos (Limampung Piso)
Sergio Osmena is the face of 50 peso bill. He’s the fourth president of the Philippines.
Places to visit:
- MacArthur Landing Memorial National Park, Leyte
- Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, Batangas
100 pesos (Sandaang Piso)
Manuel Roxas is the face of 100 peso bill. He’s the fourth president of the Philippines.
Places to visit:
- Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Intramuros, Manila
- Mayon Volcano, Albay
200 pesos (Dalawandaang Piso)
Diosdado Macapagal is the face of 200 peso bill. He’s the ninth President of the Philippines.
Places to visit:
- Aguinaldo Shrine, Cavite
- Barasoain Church, Bulacan
- Chocolate Hills, Bohol
500 pesos (Limandaang Piso)
Benigno and Corazon Aquino are the faces of 500 peso bill. Ninoy was a senator and Cory is the first woman president of the Philippines.
Places to visit:
- Benigno Aquino Monument, Makati
- Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, Palawan
1000 pesos (Sanlibong Piso)
Chief justice Jose Abad Santos, General Vicente Lim and Josefa Llanes Escoda are the faces of 1000 peso bill.
Place to visit:
- Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, Sulu Sea

As of now, I’ve only been to 2 out of 12 landmarks. I’m going to update this every time I visit one. I will also include detailed itineraries on how to visit each landmark.
