How I Spent the First Day of 2026: A Personal New Year Reset

The first day of 2026 felt like a quiet but meaningful reset. There was no pressure, just intention. Instead of rushing into big celebrations, I chose to start the year focusing on my health, home, and the little moments that make life feel grounded. Here’s how my New Year began.

Starting 2026 With Fitness Goals

I kicked off the year with a gym visit. One of my main goals for 2026 is to work out six times a week and prioritize my health consistently. My biggest milestone is reaching a normal BMI.

Right now, I weigh 55 kilos, which is the heaviest I’ve been. With daily cardio, mindful eating, and discipline, I’m hoping to reach 50 kilos before the year ends. It’s not about extremes. It’s about consistency, patience, and showing up for myself every day.

Spending More Time at Home With Family

After the gym, I spent the rest of the day at home. Even though I’m now staying in a condo, I’m making a conscious effort to spend more time at my family house this year. It’s easy to get used to independence and quiet living, but I don’t want distance to replace connection slowly.

I want to be more present. More shared meals, unplanned conversations, and ordinary days that don’t need special occasions. Spending time with my family helps me feel grounded, and it’s something I want to prioritize no matter how busy life gets.

Sometimes, being home is exactly what the soul needs.

A Special Starbucks Mug From the Philippines

I also bought a new Starbucks mug, something small but special to me. I’ve been collecting the Starbucks “Been There” series from all the countries I’ve visited.

It suddenly hit me that my home country, the Philippines, wasn’t part of my collection yet, so I fixed that. This purchase also sparked a new goal of exploring more provinces in the Philippines this year.

And exciting news, I’ll be in Cebu this March. Stay tuned because I’ll be sharing blog posts about my Bantayan Island experience very soon.

Ending the Day With Comfort Food at X Malatang

To wrap up the day, my family and I ate at X Malatang, one of our go-to places for hot and spicy soup. After feeling cold from our Starbucks drinks, my brother suggested something warm, and it was exactly what we needed.

It’s comforting, flavorful, and perfect for cozy nights. I truly hope they don’t close this year. Please don’t.

More Personal Journals in 2026

This year, I’m planning to share more personal journal-style blog posts. These will include moments from daily life, travel stories, reflections, and everything in between. If you’re reading this, thank you for being here. I hope you stay with me throughout 2026.

How about you? What are your plans for 2026?
