10 Fun Things to do in Baguio on a weekend trip

Baguio is one of the most famous tourist spots in the Philippines. It may be called the City of Pines but it is commonly known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines. Baguio is located in the Cordillera Administrative Region, particularly in the Province of Benguet.

Last November 2019, I tried to spend a weekend in Baguio. I already consumed all my vacation leave for the year 2019 so I have no choice but to utilize my weekends in short trips. In this post, I’m going to list the 10 fun things to do in Baguio on a weekend trip.

1. Devour Strawberry Ice Cream and Strawberry Taho

Strawberry Ice Cream and Strawberry Taho can be bought on the streets for 30 pesos only. I’d say it’s a good buy because I’m really satisfied with the taste. It’s not every day you’ll get to experience Strawberry Taho

2. Experience Horseback Riding

In Wright Park, people can rent a horse for 300 pesos per hour. To be honest, I’m not a fan of attractions that includes animals. I prefer taking photos instead of riding them.

3. Wear Igorot Costume at Mines View Park

Wearing traditional clothes has always been on my bucket list wherever I go. Compared to other Asian countries I’ve visited, renting an Igorot Costume is the cheapest. People can rent the clothes for as low as 75 pesos!

4. Check out The Mansion

The Mansion is the official summer palace of the President of the Philippines. Admission is free but you can’t really go inside the building. Just enjoy the gate instead. Haha!

5. Visit the Parks

There are several parks in Baguio: Burnham Park, Botanical Garden, Wright Park, Mines View Park, and many more. It’s great to walk around the parks in the morning to experience the cold weather of Baguio. For those compiling a list of places to visit in Baguio, the parks offer a serene escape into nature’s embrace, with each one presenting a unique aspect of the city’s charm.
