Welcome Aboard MMMA!

MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy (MMMA) welcomed 340 student applicants last July 1, 2019. Out of more than 2000 applicants, only few are chosen. Welcome Aboard MMMA!

Welcome Aboard MMMA!

I went there last year for my brother’s move in day. This time, I went there to document the move in day of the second batch. It’s not super grand like the move in ceremony last year. There’s no photo booth and the campus tour became a virtual tour. Why? Because all of them are still on probation. The actual move in day will be on July 31, 2019. Only those who will survive the one month intensive training will be accepted as students.

MMMA offers two courses: BS Marine Transportation and BS Marine Engineering. The Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) is a four-year undergraduate degree program which leads to a professional career in the maritime industry, as a marine deck officer. On the other hand, the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering is a four-year degree program that centers on the construction, operation, and maintenance of different kinds of marine vessels such as cargo ships, cruise ships, fishing boats, battleships and submarines.

MMMA Scholarship

I asked their Facebook Page about scholarship and I got this reply: “We don’t offer scholarships at the moment but we have a financial assistance program which is the Study Now Pay Later Program (SNPL). Please be informed that the SNPL is still being processed with our partner financial institution. Once pushed through, the candidate is subject to evaluation and must pass all the assessment test and series of interview in order to be entitled for the said program. The SNPL is given for qualified underprivileged students only.

  1. Can i learn more about the SNPL program od your prestigious maritime academy? Me and my son is aiming to be part of your school for his bright future. Thank you amd God bless🙏

    1. Hello! I’m actually not part of the academy. My brother is studying there. He’s now in Brazil for his internship program. You may inquire directly to their Facebook Page about your concern for SNPL.

  2. My son is about to finish his post graduate training course for cruise ship operations at Magsaysay too. He hopes to get a job on a cruise line soon. Magsaysay is a good company – for manning, training and making the youths’ dreams a reality.

  3. interesting and for sure educational read. never knew that it is mandatory for cadets to have their hair shaved and cut in order to be in the program.

  4. I never heard of this before & it was very interesting read. So decent young people! Thank you for sharing!

  5. The information you provided about the requirements and the tuition for the MMMA was quite interesting. I knew nothing about it and now feel that I have a basic understanding of the program. Thanks!
