Sneaktify

SM’s Shop and Make Art launched #Sneaktify at SM Dasmarinas last March 25, 2018. Sneaktify is an art contest wherein everyday sneakers will serve as the canvas for shoppers. This project aims to incorporate fashion and art in one grand colorful festivity.

Mr. Ritchie Tan Gonzales, SM South Luzon Assistant Vice President, graced the event. He’s the brainchild of Shop and Make Art. He mentioned that Shop and Make Art makes an artist out of everybody and creates a sense of community. It provides a challenge and thrill for shoppers to embrace and express their creativity and personality.

Fashion Bloggers Paul Chuapoco and Tracy Ayson shared some tips on how to style canvas shoes and how to take shoefies for Instagram. The event was hosted by Kelley Day, an actress from The One That Got Away. This event is really star studded!

My sister and I really had fun in the event. Prior to the workshop, my sister played in the Sneakhead Interactive Wall where she designed some virtual shoes. As an artist, my sister enjoyed checking the sneakers and various art materials from Faber-Castell. While she’s busy, I tried some mouthwatering snacks from Buku-buku Kafe.

What I love about Sneaktify is that it gives the shoppers an opportunity to personalize their sneakers and to showcase their creativity. In addition, joining the contest can also be a form of bonding with family and friends.

  1. Loved the way you guys colored the sneakers! I think it’s really cool how you are able to find all kinds of unique and fun events to take your family to. Your blog is an inspiration! 😀

  2. Actually, I love designing stuff like this. I would have thoroughly enjoyed this event myself! Your design looks great. I love that you can pick your own colours and personalize the design to your own taste. I saw the same concept offered in a market in Jeonju by the Hanok Maul when I last visited. I have to try it sometime. Nice pictures!

  3. This totally reminds me of a shop I stumbled across in Busan a couple of years ago, where you could choose your own Converse sneakers design (and I did!). While I wasn’t able to color my own shoes personally, I think its a wonderful way to help shoppers be more creative with their custom designs. Your watermelon design screams: “I’m ready for summer!”

  4. I would have really admired the program encouraging creativity but it is sooooo commercial. 2,000php worth of purchase isn’t accessible for the majority. Oh well, that’s an SM-initiated program. but hey, your shoe design looks refreshing.

  5. This looks like such a fun event! I love the idea of creating your own sneakers or colouring in yourself. How creative!
