Bowling in the Philippines is not really common. However, there are some malls where you can bring your friends and family to experience it.
After 24 years, I finally experienced bowling!
Why just now?
When I was in elementary, I’ve learned about Paeng Nepomuceno. He is a six time World Bowling Champion. He is acknowledged as the greatest international bowler of all time. In fact, he’s one of the Filipinos listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
When I was in college, bowling is one of the courses offered under our Physical Education Department. I didn’t sign up for that because I preferred lighter classes like Shakti (Yoga + Pilates) and Walking for Fitness (yes it exists!).
Now that I’m working, our company had a team building activity at SM Mall of Asia Bowling Center. Finally, it’s my time to shine! Char!
As the first timer, I scored the lowest. It doesn’t show in the screen that I missed a lot of shots in the next tries. Good thing I captured this! HAHAHA!
Where to play?
SM Bowling has nine branches: SM North EDSA, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM Southmall, SM City Fairview, SM Clark, SM City Ceby, SM Lanang Davao, and SM Seaside.
All of them have shoe rental, and billiards. Some of them even have KTV and foosball!
How much?
One game costs 165 pesos in Manila. It’s cheaper in the provinces for about 110 to 120 pesos only.
Shoe rental is 50 pesos. Billiards is 180 to 300 pesos per hour. KTV is 125 to 250 pesos per hour. The Foosball which is only available in SM City Cebu is 100 per hour.

I had a great time playing the game. However, I can still my body pains until now. The ball is really heavy! Nonetheless, I’m going to go back there for sure!

Whenever I go bowling I always go for the lightest bal possible – I am such a weakling lol! Always find it really fun though. Your prices are much cheaper to those in the UK though! X
Not going to lie, I love bowling! I had no idea that one of the greatest bowlers in the world comes from the Philippines (Paeng Nepomuceno)! How very cool. Bowling is one of those things here in New Orleans that we rarely think about doing but every time we go we have a blast. We even have a famous place Called Rock & Bowl that is not only a bowling alley but also a concert venue where bands play and people come to dance, drink, & listen to great local bands all while bowling!
