Reasons to Travel with Family

Reasons to Travel with Family – Some people like traveling alone but others prefer to travel with their family members. I’ve been solo traveling for the past two years. I am in charge of myself. I get to choose which place to go, what activity to do, and what food to eat. Now that I’m back in Philippines, I got a dilemma. Solo Travel or Family Travel?

I tried to list the pros and cons of traveling alone and traveling with family. In the end, I realized that I want to experience traveling with my family. Here are the reasons why:

1. It’s a lifetime investment.

The money and time I spent for my family is priceless. Few years from now, we will forget the things we have but the memories of our vacation remains. Family trips give us opportunity to see and do new things that we’ll remember for a long time.

It’s also a learning experience for my younger sibling. She often tells us that her teacher talked about the places we visited. I think it’s better to see something in person than to see it in books a hundred times.

2. It improves the relationship of the family.

The long road trip gives way for us to make actual conversations. We talk about each others’ life. We share interesting stories. It brings our family closer together.

It’s good to complete all those items in your bucket list by yourself. But I think it’s better when you share these moments with your family.

3. It’s one way of giving back to our parents and grandparents.

Our parents and grandparents spend a lot of their time working for us. Taking them on a vacation can be a way to reward them for everything they have done for us.

Our grandmother never had a chance to travel a lot when she was young. She devoted herself in working for her children. When she became a grandmother, she spent her time taking care of us. It really feels fulfilling whenever she says that it’s her first time to try something.
