A dozen of Filming Locations in a day!

To all the Korean Drama Fans like me, this is for you.

It was a sunny winter day. I woke up early, took a warm bath, and ate free breakfast from the hotel. I stayed in Hostel Korea Changdeokgung. They serve breakfast as early as 8am. It’s very strategic to stay there because the location is perfect for Korean drama fans like me. It’s just a 3 minute walk from Changdeokgung Palace.

Inside Changdeokgung Palace, you’ll find the secret garden. Some scenes from Love in the Moonlight were filmed there. I already went there so I skipped it, and went to Unhyeongung Palace near Anguk Station exit 4. I think it’s just a 5 minute walk from Chandeokgung Palace.

Beside the Unhyeongung Palace, there’s a school named Deoksung Woman’s University where Unhyeongung Yanggwan is located. There you’ll see the exterior part of Goblin’s house.

I went back to Anguk Station near Exit 3 and passed by Bukchon Hanok Village. After a 10 minute walk to Gahoe dong, I saw Sanggojae of the Personal Taste.

Bukchon Hanok Village

I continued my “hike” upwards the Bukchon Hanok Village. I went to Seoul Choong Ang Highschool. Ji Eun Tak (Goblin’s bride) studied there. (Tip: Use your phone’s GPS to you won’t get lost)

A dozen of Filming Locations in a day!

While on my way to Insadong, I passed by Samcheongdong. It’s the place where Another Oh Hae Young / Another Miss Oh filmed the wildest kissing scene in Korean Drama. LOL! Grim Reaper / Wang Yeo and Sunny/ Kim Sun Hee also kissed there for the first time.

On the street across Insadong, you’ll see the street where Goblin and Eun Tak first met. It was raining and they didn’t notice each other.

I ate in Insadong. I haven’t watched it yet but an episode of KBS Battle Trip was filmed there. Doojoon of Beast appeared as a guest in that episode.

From Insadong, I took a bus going to Gwanghwamun. It’s place place where Park Bo Gum danced Bombastic!

I walked towards Deoksugung Palace, and watched the changing of guards. I didn’t go inside but I went around the palace to find Grim Reaper’s teahouse. Before I got there, I passed by Seoul Museum of Art, a scene from Weightlifting Kim Bok Joo was filmed there.

It was 4pm when I decided to take a rest in the hostel. My phone battery was empty so I took a nap while charging it. It’s really convenient when your accommodation is near the tourist spots.

From Changdeokgung, I took a bus going to Kukmin University and went to Bok Chicken. It’s about 30 to 40 minutes ride going there. It was a holiday when I went there, the restaurant is closed and I didn’t see any chicken in the menu. I guess it’s really not worth it going there. LOL. (If you don’t want to waste your time you can just go to Heo Joon Jae’s house in Myeongdong.)

I ate dinner at Sunny’s 2nd restaurant near Cheonggyecheon. It’s easier to go there than in the first shop which is located in Gangnam. If you still have energy after dinner, you can visit the Shinsegae Mall in Myeongdong to see the place where Heo Joon Jae dropped the pink octopus.

PS
This itinerary is for the strong. LOL! My “moves app” said that I had 14,000 steps that day. I hope I helped you with this.
