Philippines (Week 4&5)

This is how I spent my final weeks in the Philippines. It was mainly to bond with my family and close friends.

August 22, 2016 (Day 18)

I had a date with my grandmother. Why? Here are some reasons why you should date your grandparents. And to be honest, I just really want to spend time with her. She’s my only grandparent left.

5 Reasons why you should go out with you grandparents

August 23, 2016 (Day 19)

I woke up early, cooked breakfast for the family, and did some chores. It was a normal unemployed day. My parents are at work and my siblings are at school. I was alone in the house so I’ve decided to eat out. Eating out is really cheap compared to when you are in another country. I ate at Pizza Hut and only spent $3 for this meal.

August 24, 2016 (Day 20)

My brother invited me to attend the midweek service at the Church of God. I felt blessed in the worship service. It really feels good to sing your heart out to praise and worship the Lord.

I’m proud of my brother. Despite his busy schedule in school, he never misses the worship services at church. I hope he influences my other brother.

August 25, 2016 (Day 21)

I traveled from Cavite to Makati just to meet my awesome bloodline. Marah is my godchild in our college organization, while Danica is her godchild. They are like my sisters when we were in college. I only have a few friends, and I think they’re enough. <3

August 26, 2016 (Day 22)

I went to Westhill International School to watch the performance of my former students. Unfortunately, I was called out again. The directress asked some people to walk me out. I guess she hasn’t moved on with what I did last year. She was really upset when I gave her my resignation letter. Anyway, I’m glad I was able to hug my students even for a short time. I can really feel their love and happiness in their warm hugs.

When I went home, my sister told me that she wants to go out. I brought her to Miracle Art Museum located at The District, Imus, Cavite. I will make a separate review of it.

August 27, 2016 (Day 23)

I planned to meet my college housemates today. We go out once or twice a year. This time, I brought my sister with me. We went to Art in Island Interactive Museum and Manila Ocean Park. I will also make some reviews about them in another post.

August 28, 2016 (Day 24)

We attended the worship service at Tagaytay United Methodist Church. I guess it’s the coldest church I’ve been to this month. The weather in Tagaytay is better compared to the other churches we visited. I also felt blessed in the praise and worship, and in the sermon. Too bad, my dad was sick and he can’t come with us.

After church, we dropped by at some ukay ukay (thrift shop) around Tagaytay. I bought a coat, winter pants, and a leather jacket for $15. I wasn’t able to take a photo of the thrift shop but it’s really big. Most of the clothes are still new with minimal defects.

August 29, 2016 (Day 24)

The 29th of August is National Heroes Day in the Philippines. It’s a holiday that’s why my siblings and cousin are in the house. My sister wanted to swim so we took a dip in the swimming pool near our place, Qubo Qabana. (I’ll make a review about it soon.)

At night, we were visited by a pastor. We talked about some stuff, then he prayed for our family. After that, my mom’s friends visited us for some catching up. I was really happy because they brought some Filipino food like sisig and crispy pata. LOL.

August 30, 2016 (Day 25)

I visited the place where I first worked as a teacher, Jabez Christian School. Unlike the other school, I was welcomed by their administrator. He allowed me to visit some teachers and even showed me their new facilities. It was good to catch up with my friends and former mentors.

August 31, 2016 (Last Day)

It’s supposed to be my rest day but I did a lot of errands. In the morning, I went to watch a movie with my sister. It’s a school activity about anti-bullying advocacy. In the afternoon, I paid some taxes and insurance. I also did some last-minute shopping for pasalubong.

I left the house at around 5 pm. Then, I arrived at the airport at 8 pm. My flight is 11 pm, I had time for dinner. I arrived in Korea at 5 pm local time.
