This cone marks the start of the Cheonggyecheon Stream.

Cheonggyecheon Stream is one of the most popular tourist spots in Seoul. It is an 11 Km stream with 22 bridges!

It was spring when I went there. I took some pictures of the bridges while walking.

Besides the bridges, the walls are also interesting.

If you’re a nature lover, you would really enjoy walking there. I think the best time to visit there is Spring or Autumn. During winter, there are no leaves. During summer, it’s rainy and sometimes, the stream is closed to the public because of the flood.

During the Yeon Deung Hoe (Lotus Lantern Festival), you can see lanterns at the stream. The exhibition of traditional lanterns happened last May 6-14, 2016. Of course, I didn’t miss it!

There are many ways to go there because it has many entrance points but I would suggest that you start at the Gwanghwamun area.

Here are the possible subway stations where you can start:

  1. Gwanghwamun Station (Exit 5)
  2. Jongno 3(sam)-ga (Exit 12,13,14)
  3. Euljiro 4(sa)-ga (Exit 3,4)
  4. Dongdaemun (Exir 1)
  5. Sindang (Exit 1, 10)
  6. Dongmyo (Exir 1, 6)

You can get out the stream in any bridge but I suggest that you get out at Hwanghak Bridge near Dongmyo Station and visit the Hwanghakdong flea market and Donggwanwangmyo Shrine.
