Where to Stay in Batangas? La Luz Beach Resort

La Luz Beach Resort

It’s been three months since I last visited a beach. The last time I sunbathed is when I visited Caramoan Islands. I was really thrilled when my colleagues invited me to join their trip to Laiya, Batangas.

Unlike my previous trips where I’m very hands on in planning, I just ask them how much to bring and then I signed up. I just wanna see the beach so bad. I didn’t intend to make a blog about that trip but here I am writing because I can’t help but to make a review about the places I’ve been. (Okay, this is not a sponsored post. I wish it was!) So let me talk about my experience in La Luz Beach Resort.

We arrived there before lunch so we had to wait for our accommodation to be ready. I understand that the check in time is after lunch so we just chilled at the beach front.

We stayed in the Premier Loft Room. According to the website, the room rental includes lunch upon arrival, afternoon snack, dinner and breakfast the next day. However, the attendant mentioned that we were not included in the head count because they assumed that we will arrive after lunch. Instead, we were asked to order from the menu. The prices of the meals are around 200 to 300 pesos.

The air conditioned room has 2 queen beds on the first floor, and 3 single beds on the second floor/attic. It also include a bathroom, and a toilet.  You have to bring your own toiletries because they only provide a shampoo and a liquid bath soap.

I did not take any pictures of the staff but I must say that they are accommodating. As soon as we got there, they gave us our personal WiFi passwords. That’s the most important thing to me since I brought my work to the beach. LOL.

The staff are wearing white polo shirts which make them easy to recognize. The people in the buffet area are wearing hairnets. I love how clean they are in managing food.

Okay, I just realized that I’ve been mentioning food in the previous paragraphs but I failed to take any foodie. Probably because I was too hungry to take pictures. (or because this isn’t a sponsored post hahaha)

They serve a variety of food. In the buffet, they have pork, beef, fish, chicken, and vegetables. In my opinion the food is so-so. It’s not bad, but it’s not too good that I will recommend it. What I like the most is when we can ask the staff to cook eggs for breakfast. There’s a corner where you can select some ingredients for the omelette. Yum!

There are various activities to do in La Luz Beach Resort. You can do football, badminton, and volleyball.

In addition, there are also activities that have extra fees like the use of board games, bikes, boat, banana boat, snorkling, diving, kayak and jet ski. The most interesting part I’ve read in their website is the use of yacht! I haven’t seen any yacht when we came there but I’d love to try it next time.

As a whole I had a great time with my colleagues. We spent 2 days and 1 night there but I guess it’s not enough to explore all the amenities. Before we left, I saw that they are preparing for a wedding. I wish I have seen the wedding venue and took pictures there!

Anyway, I think I spent around 3,000 pesos for that trip. I think it’s a well spent money because I got what I paid for. On the contrary, I believe that there are other beach resorts which are better and cheaper than this.

I’ve been to Nasugbu, Batangas few years ago. I can still remember that the sand there are finer and less rocky than in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. More than that, the view is also better in Looc, Nasugbu, Batangas.

  1. I have a friend who lives in Batangas! I am also visiting Philippines soon although I won’t be able to make it to Batangas (unfortunately) because I will be doing the usual touristy places such as Boracay and Palawan.
